Mid-Autumn Update
Pointing in Progress
Things are moving along here this season as we brace ourselves for the coming winter. This week we are eagerly anticipating the heat getting up and running and the mansion's 1,500 gallon oil tank filled (ouch!). We have completed pointing the north-side face of the building, which has turned out very nicely after much hard work and with the help of U.S. Heritage Group in matching the original limestone motar in their labs (see Videos for footage of Mortar Workshop and stay tuned for Part II).
In an effort to winterize, we have also been working on getting up storm windows and repairing sash to protect the original cylinder glass that is still intact. They turned out beautifully!
